3) Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 23, give me line 17.
"…the anxious, aggressive voice of the old man, the curt, injured replies of his opponent…"
23) What’s the worst place you have ever been to?
Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool. It’s for children. I had to go there to see a specialist when I was diagnosed with Coeliac disease. Didn’t help walking through a ward filled with cancer-stricken children. Felt like a fucking mile-long corridor.
Alternatively, it could be a hotel I stopped in briefly in Denver, Colorado. It was our last day before heading home and we were all tired as hell after what must’ve been over 200 miles in scorching heat on Harleys. We just needed a place to crash, to have a shower and get dressed into our aeroplane clothes.
It was literally the grubbiest hotel I’ve ever been in. The receptionist was stoned off her ass, children were crying, parents were screaming at one another and prostitutes were lurking outside. The rooms themselves stank of urine and the place was stained with smoke, amongst other things. Even the fucking shower felt dirty. Fortunately after crossing the road to Wal-Mart (feeling like the most inconspicuous touristy white kid in a neighbourhood of black dudes) we only had a few hours in there before we skedaddled and caught our plane back to merry old England.
38) Where is your best friend?
Very far away.
